Micropropagated Aspen Stock Arrives

30 June 2016

Its that time of year again to receive thousands of tiny aspen trees from the laboratory. Time to get busy potting them all up! Great work by Micropropagation Services. Aspen rarely sets seed so to propagate large volumes of trees requires the use of plant tissue culture methods, basically growing trees in petri dishes. Its amazing to think that each of these 50 different aspen clones derives from a single root cutting collected by Eadha from a wild clone somewhere in Galloway and Arran.
