Through the Forestry Commission's WIAT scheme to boost urban woodlands, Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park have been funded to deliver improvements to Parkhill Woods.  The works include improvements to paths and signage for all ability access and a programme of rhododendron and bracken removal to improve biodiversity.  Aspen, an LBAP species together with Scots Pine are being planted in the cleared areas. Areas of scrub are also being created on the margins of the woodland.

Eadha has supplied 300 aspen trees to this project together with volunteer labour for planting.  The trees have been grown from 100 different clones which will make this woodland a valuable scientific resource.  The site will effectively act as an arboretum to showcase the different clones.  The trees will also be used as a source of propagation material in the future.  Eadha will be monitoring the comparative growth of the clones and will be observing how the aspen competes with the bracken.
