Eadha has helped SWT set up a native aspen nursery at its Shewalton Wood Reserve in Irvine.  We delivered an aspen propagation workshop for a group of volunteers who will then go onto manage the nursery.

A selection of stock trees and younger saplings belonging to 10 clones from Southern Scotland have been provided including 2 clones from SWT reserves - Loch Libo and Feoch Meadows. The stock trees will be used as a source of root cuttings.  It is hoped that over time the nursery will produce aspen trees on an ongoing basis for planting on SWT's various reserves.
