NATIONAL ASPEN CLONE COLLECTION

Eadha maintains a nationally significant collection of native clones from across Scotland and Northern England in its nursery.  A small number of trees from each clone are maintained as stock trees in 20 litre air pots.

The collection represents a critical resource for native aspen conservation, representing in the region of 20-30% of the entire species gene pool for this geographical area.

Eadha is using this clone bank to develop field trials to test the clones in a range of applications. We also welcome academics and researchers to access the collection and to take samples.  Further information on research and trials.
